Thanks to our CEO, Mr. Per Linden for his great and professional analysis and explanation of the new Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) which is taking effect in Sweden to the audience of companies from around the world, at Elmia Subcontractor 2024. Companies are preparing their first sustainability reports according to the latest European Sustainability Reporting Standard (ESRS).  As the directive requires greater transparency, particularly with regard to supply chains, it presents a unique challenge for businesses to demonstrate their sustainability efforts.

While many SMEs are currently exempt from mandatory reporting, larger companies will increasingly require their suppliers to provide CSRD-compliant information. CSRD readiness has proven to be a key competitive advantage for businesses in business development and sales.

Scandic Sourcing has been providing supplier Code of conduct assessments and sustainability audits to Swedish companies with sub-suppliers in China and Asia since 2008. Through well-structured audit programs, we help companies achieve measurable improvements in their supply chain - the most challenging aspect of CSR compliance.

Scandic Sourcing provides support to SMEs in the preparation of sustainability reports based on the CSRD Voluntary Standard for SMEs (VSME). With such reporting, SMEs can provide reliable data and transparency to large clients, minimize the time spent responding to data requests, and lay the groundwork for further sustainability reporting efforts.

This workshop briefly Outlines the requirements and suggests how SMEs can play an important role in sustainability reporting.
